What's Special About AnaYela Riad:
This 300-year-old palace in Marrakesh has been turned into a stylish boutique hotel by German entrepreneur Bernd Kolb. The name AnaYela, which translates to "I am Yela," was inspired by manuscripts left in the palace by a young woman who wrote about her first love.

Five guest rooms. Three rooms and two suites, each individually decorated with furnishings by Bernd Kolb. Suites have bathtubs for two. Room rates include airport transfers, complimentary breakfast, room service, laundry, and use of a printer, fax, and Wi-Fi Internet access. Nightly rates from about $430.

- Staff at the riad can arrange for you a special night with traditional music, snake charmers and Yela's story spun by a professional story-teller.
- The "Flying Carpet" tower at the top of the riad is one of the highest points in the city.
