Description:
Undeniably, this hotel is one of the most recognized landmarks of midtown Manhattan. The first skyscraper hotel, The Waldorf=Astoria is a place where one can have a Park Avenue address, if only for a few days. Rooms are tastefully and classically decorated, and have push-button fireplaces for a soft glow on a chilly New York night. That's assuming you stay in, but with Fifth Avenue shopping, Times Square glitz and Grand Central Station bustle within footsteps, you'll probably stay out instead. My room on a recent stay was a standard guest room with a King-sized bed. A small but nicely appointed bathroom in neutral creamy marble was stocked with Neutrogena amenities and a blowdryer. The view was of busy Park Avenue, and the ubiquitous street noise could be heard through the window. (I've started to think of the constant car horns as a Manhattan lullaby.) The room was large and very functional with a writing desk complete with a copier/fax/printer, and a closet with a full-sized ironing board. Take a photo tour of The Waldorf=Astoria
