Family from Chicago, visited: July 2005
My biggest complaint was with the hotel's handling for customer safety. First night there, the fire alarm went off at 10:45 pm due to an ignorant guest hanging their clothes hangers on the sprinkler head causing it to rip off the wall causing lots of water in their room. After going down several flights of stairs with several groggy kids, we were told after 20 minutes it was safe to return after watching water cascading off the balcony from the room with the problem.
A few minutes later half the lights in our room went off, then all power lost at 11:30. Front desk told us to go back down to the parking lot and wait for fire dept. to tell us all was OK. Waking up the kids a second time and going down the stairs again to the parking lot, we were immediately told the power was right back on and to go back to our room. 20 minutes later the neighbor in the next room asked us if we too were getting water now leaking into the room and he was changing rooms.
Realizing water and electricity is a bad mix, we called the front desk, they said they were aware of continuing problems and asked me to come down to the front desk to get another room at 1 am. Upon talking to the front desk clerk, he first told me to take the family back out into the parking lot and wait for the fire department to clear us.
Bottom line is I would not stay there ever again due to the greatly increased cost and the extremely poor customer service and handling of our safety concerns.
