Weezy, visited April 2007

From Weezy: We were very disappointed with this hotel. We stayed at a cheaper hotel for the first few days of our holiday and were full of excitement ready for our move to Nickelodeon.

Here are just some of the points to think about....

On arrival there was a very long wait to check in.

The rooms were ok, but there was no door on the kids bedroom - just a tatty curtain. The kids 'Character' bedroom was just a picture of Spongebob & friends, nothing more.

We were charged for things (you can check your account on TV screen) which we didn't even have, e.g. drinks by the pool - someone else must have given our room number. They were taken off our account but we were never apologised to, just told (rather rudely) the items had been removed.

The main TV wouldn't come on one evening and was told it would not be repaired until the next day.

The entertainment was very poor. The evening entertainment we saw needed to be booked in advance, lasted about 30 minutes and none of the Nickelodeon characters were there, it was just audience participation with some of the staff.

If we wanted a picture with Spongebob (for example) we had to pay for it (there was no set time for him to be anywhere without booking/paying in advance) We paid for an expensive character breakfast. Spongebob disappeared after 15 minutes, but we did get a picture before he left.

We paid $106.50 (plus tax!!) to see the Bikini Bottom Bash, this consisted of Spongebob and Patrick making an appearance. The kids were given an photo frame, CD and a bag. The 'snack' was green soda and a custard type dessert with candy on top.

The food oasis is small with not much choice of food.

The shop selling groceries etc. is a total rip off!

Once daily at 4:45 pm gunge - which was green water - was thrown down in the pool area. Other than that the pool side entertainment is rather poor.

We considered leaving early but would have been charged for doing so.

Overall we regretted not investigating this hotel more before booking it. The first hotel we stayed in was 0.3 of the price and much more value for money.

Our kids enjoyed the hotel, but then they are too young to understand we were being ripped off.
