Pets that live in hotels? You can't really blame them for never wanting to to check out. Get to know a few famous hotel pets.
1. The Algonquin Hotel
The Algonquin in New York City, famous in literary circles as the site of the Round Table, is known for another long-time tradition: its cat. Fluffy and regal, Matilda holds court in the lobby.2. The Peabody
The famous ducks at the Peabody in Memphis march every day, twice a day, down a red carpet. No ordinary ducks, these march to Philip Sousa's "King Cotton March," following a tradition that began in the 1930s. The ducks also march at the Orlando Peabody. They also sell duck-themed gift items at their online store.3. Kimpton
Pet-friendly boutique hotel chain Kimpton goes the extra mile for guests who can't bring their pet along by offering a goldfish in guest rooms on request with the "Guppy Love" program. The graceful Betta fish visit little fishbowls, bringing smiles to guests in their room, and return to a larger tank after the guests leave.4. Fairmont Copley Plaza
This historic Boston hotel adopted a 68-pound black lab named Catie Copley in 2004. Already famous, she has her own email address and is often seen hobnobbing with celebrities.5. Boca Raton Resort and Club
The resort's original owner, Addison Mizner, was known for his exotic pets back in the 1920s. A bit of an eccentric, he often greeted guests in the lobby wearing silk pajamas accessorized by a monkey on his shoulder. Although M. Mizner and his monkeys are long gone, the hotel memorializes them at Mizner's Monkey Bar off the lobby.6. Loews Annapolis Hotel
Luke, the resident Labrador retriever, really takes care of guests. He delivers mail to the hotel staff, helps to checks guests in at the front desk, and answers email. Luke goes the extra mile for guests by loaning himself out to those who couldn't bring a pet along (or don't have one at home). He loves to cuddle children, play fetch, going sailing or just taking a walk in the charming Historic Downtown area of Annapolis.Let me know.
