The hotel is part of the Schloss (Castle) Cecilienhof, completed in 1917 for Crown Prince Wilhelm of Preussen and his wife, Duchess Cecilie. Built in the half-timber English Tudor style popular with country houses, the castle was the last of the Hohenzollern monarchy. Untouched in the Allied bombings of World War II, the castle was the site of the Potsdam Conference, where Truman, Churchill and Stalin met to negotiate the fate of Germany in 1945.

- If you are on a budget, opt for a standard room. They are less expensive than the Deluxe rooms, and have larger bathrooms.
