Smoke-Free Hotels

In 2006, Westin became the first hotel chain to ban smoking in all of its North American hotels, and Marriott followed suit soon after. Many independent hotels have also become smoke-free. If you know of a smoke-free hotel not listed here, email me.
Hotel Chains Ban Smoking

Sheraton hotels and resorts in the United States and Canada are going smoke-free as of December 31, 2008.

Marriott
All 2,300+ Marriott hotels in the United States and Canada are nonsmoking as of October 2006. Marriott's brands include JW Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn, TownePlace Suites and Marriott ExecuStay.
Westin
Westin was the first hotel chain to go completely smoke-free. All locations in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean are included. Smoking is not permitted in any guest rooms, restaurants, bars or other indoor public areas. Guests can still smoke on balconies and some outdoor areas.
Comfort Suites
All Comfort Suites in the United States are smoke-free in guest rooms and public areas effective May 1, 2007.
Disneyland Hotel
The Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California, along with fellow Disneyland hotels The Grand Californian and Paradise Pier, have all become nonsmoking.
Walt Disney World Resorts
All 22 of the resort hotels and "Disney Vacation Club" timeshare properties are smoke-free as of June 1, 2007. The smoking ban includes guest rooms, patios and balconies.
