Middlecreek Valley Chalet Resort

From Tony Conboy, III

Middlecreek Valley Chalet

Not exactly the "cabin" you pictured; a three-bedroom chalet.

Tony Conboy, III
The Bottom Line:
Cabins ranging from a one-bedroom chalet up to seventeen-bedroom monstrosity that can house over 50 people.

$105 per bedroom in the chalet, per night. Sleeper sofas are an additional $12 per night. The fall leaf season is the busiest. If you can go during the week, they sometimes have specials available even during the fall. Description:
For years families have been going to the Smoky Mountains for vacations. While the mountains haven't changed over the years, the quality of the accommodations to choose from sure have. It's definitely not the "cabins" your grandparents were accustomed to staying in during years past. Sure, many families still elect to sleep in self-pitched tents in national parks or to stay in small roadside mom & pop hotels, but there are other, more luxurious choices available as well. The "cabin" of today is no match for the cabin of yesteryear.

The resort is located on a hilltop a stone's throw from the entrance of Dollywood. Pigeon Forge's amusement park and adjacent water park. The entire resort is brand new, with the oldest unit having been built in only 2001. Pigeon Forge itself is booming, with new tourist attractions, hotels and road construction visible everywhere. The resort represents the area's most luxurious accommodations, from a one bedroom chalet up to seventeen bedroom monstrosity that can house over 50 people. There are currently thirteen buildings on 26 acres, with another 24 acres yet to be developed at Middlecreek Valley.

At Middlecreek Valley, when you do arrive you'll find world-class accommodations. They try to cater to the upscale tourist, reunions, church groups and other special interest groups. Whichever segment of their market you fall into, you'll find a chalet with a completely outfitted kitchen, a microwave, a dishwasher, an oven, washing machine and dryer, refrigerator with icemaker, iron, pots, pans, coffee maker, separate dining room, separate breakfast area and indoor hot tub. They even remember the small things like an electric can opener and an electric blender. Some chalets even have not one, but two fireplaces. There is no need to run to the store to buy charcoal briquettes, as each chalet has a large gas grills -- just another sign of how far "cabins" have progressed over the years.
