What's Special About Le Meridien Hotel des Indes:
The hotel was built in 1858, an opulent private residence for Baron van Brenen, personal advisor to King William III. After his death, the mansion was renovated into a grand hotel, which opened in 1881. The first guest was HRH Prince Frederik, the second son of King Willem I. Since then, diverse guests have included Theodore Roosevelt, Jaques Chirac, Tony Blair, Anna Pavlova, Mata Hari and the Spice Girls. Modern improvements include a fitness center and Wi-Fi in the grand public spaces.
Guest Rooms and Rates:
92 guest rooms and suites designed by architect Jacques Garcia. Rooms have high-speed Internet access and air conditioning. Room décor is a colorful mix of modern and antique, with red glass wall hangings. Dramatic bathrooms have white marble basins, custom Portuguese red tile, black marble floors and rain showers.
