Where and When I Was Bitten
I was in a hotel I had stayed in many times so I didn't do a complete check of the room since I never had a problem.....BAD idea!!
What Happened Next
The symptoms don't start for anywhere from 2-24 hours after the bites, it started with small bubbles that turned into HUGE welts within 8 hours.
I had to be treated with antibiotic, steroids and antihistamines for 3 weeks.
The bites took 4 weeks to stop oozing and itching but I now have 30 scars that anyone can see with easy and it is 7 weeks later...yikes.
Lessons Learned
- My advice it to CHECK your room before you even bring a bag in there, do a search online using the name of the hotel, city and then add the word bed bugs, it will bring up any past reports. Also check on sites like Trip Adviser etc.
